The Front = the Allegheny Front, just west of where I live. If I were submitting the haiku somewhere else, as a stand-alone, I’d probably have changed that to “the peaks” to make it more universally comprehensible. But maybe that would be a mistake. I do like trying to get as particular as I can with the names of things in a haiku, to the extent that its brevity allows.
